Welcome to the Law Office of Sarah O’Brien, PLLC
Hello, and welcome. I’m Sarah O’Brien, founder of the Law Office of Sarah O’Brien, PLLC. I’m so glad you’re here.
Starting this firm is both a professional milestone and a deeply personal one. For years, I’ve worked as an attorney serving individuals and families during some of the most stressful moments of their lives—facing debt, job loss, housing instability, family crisis, and legal uncertainty. That work has shaped how I see the law and the role an attorney should play: not just as an advisor, but as a steady guide and advocate.
Estate planning is the natural extension of that philosophy. Instead of stepping in on what may be one of the worst days of someone’s life, my goal is to help families prepare ahead of time—so they can move forward with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
Why Estate Planning Matters to Me
My interest in estate planning grew out of seeing what happens when families don’t have a plan. I’ve witnessed loved ones struggle to make decisions during grief. I’ve seen families face unnecessary court proceedings, financial hardship, and conflict—all because important wishes were never documented or because the plans a loved one put in place ultimately failed. Most of these situations were preventable.
Estate planning is not just about money or property. It’s about people. It’s about ensuring that your children are cared for by the people you trust, that your assets are protected and passed on according to your wishes, that your family can focus on healing instead of navigating legal confusion, and that your voice is still heard, even when you cannot speak for yourself
That’s why I chose this field. Estate planning allows me to help families protect what matters most before a crisis happens.
A Little About My Family
Like many of my clients, I’m a parent, a spouse, and someone balancing the responsibilities of work and home.
My family is at the center of everything I do. Becoming a mother changed how I think about risk, responsibility, and legacy. It made the importance of planning feel very real. I wrestle the same questions as you: Who would care for my children if something happened to me? How would my family manage financially? What decisions would need to be made during an emergency?
Because I live this reality myself, I approach estate planning with empathy and practicality. I understand that families are busy, budgets are real, and decisions can feel overwhelming. My role is to make the process clear, manageable, and tailored to your life.
My Philosophy of Practice
At the Law Office of Sarah O’Brien, my approach is simple:
Clear and comprehensive guidance. Thorough and thoughtful planning.
I believe estate planning should be:
Accessible
Legal planning should not feel intimidating or out of reach. I explain concepts in plain language and make sure you understand your options so you can make the best decision for your situation.
Personalized
No two families are the same. Your plan should reflect your values, your goals, and your unique circumstances.
Proactive
The best time to plan is before a crisis. A well-designed estate plan reduces stress, protects assets, and prevents unnecessary conflict.
Relationship-based
Estate planning is not a one-time transaction. Life changes—children grow, assets evolve, laws shift. I aim to be a long-term partner for families as their needs change.
Who I Serve
I work with individuals and families who want to take responsible steps to protect their loved ones and their future. Many of my clients are parents with young children, homeowners building long-term stability, professionals planning for the unexpected, families caring for aging relatives, and individuals who simply want peace of mind.
You do not need to be wealthy to benefit from estate planning. If you have children, a home, savings, or people who depend on you, you have something worth protecting. Estate planning is for everyone.
What You Can Expect
When you work with my firm, you can expect:
A welcoming, judgment-free environment
Practical advice grounded in real-life experience
Transparent communication about costs and timelines
A well-rounded plan designed to protect your family—not just paperwork
My goal is for you to leave the process feeling relieved, prepared, and confident about the future.
Let’s Plan for What Matters Most
Estate planning is ultimately an act of care. It is one of the most meaningful ways you can protect your family and provide stability for the people you love.
If you’re ready to start planning or even just exploring your options, I would be honored to help.
